It had been many years since we visited pie-tanza and then a whim found it again. It did not disappoint, as it had previously. I'm glad they are still around and will visit again soon now that we are "reacquainted." The waitress was lovely, the food hot and fresh and very tasty with generous portions.

Discovered Pie-tanza only about a month ago as I do not live in Arlington, and it quickly became my favorite place for pizza. Consistently excellent pizza with generous toppings. The lunch special (a 10" two topping pizza with fountain drink), plus a side salad makes for a perfect meal. Service is very good, and friendly.

We love their food and the owner /manager was great too Highly recommend. Their penne pasta with sun dried tomatoes is to die for.

This is probably a 3.5 stars. Really lovely ambiance but they pack the tables in very close together so it does get a bit claustrophobic. Service was slow, a little haphazard but friendly. We waited a really long time for our drinks and food. Kids pizza was brought out last- we had to keep asking for it. The pizza itself if just fine. Nothing amazing about the flavor or toppings but a decent meal.

Another great Sunday night dinner at Pietanza! Nice selection of beers & wines, delicious brick oven pizza, plus spectacular desserts (ice cream, cannoli, hot cookie sundae). All of the servers are friendly, knowledgeable about allergies/gluten sensitivities and you get as much attention at 3 p.m. on a Tuesday as 6 p.m. on a Sunday. My go-to for "bring a lasagna to the beach" catering & "looks like I made this myself" soup, salads & dessert trays. 110%.

Pie-Tanza is a family friendly restaurant that offers a great lunch special on weekdays. For about $12, you can get a 10" pizza and a drink. The pizzas are made in a wood-burning oven in the middle of the restaurant. I tried the pesto and sweet tomato pizza and really enjoyed it.

Pretty average as far as pizza goes. The sausage seemed a bit bland to me, pie ingredients chaos garnished (meat all on one side). Crust slightly too thin and crispy for my liking. It tasted okay, but nothing to scream home about. Portion is perfect for one person, provided that is your only order. The cheese appetizers are good, I mean how can you go wrong with deep fried cheese? The goat cheese balls do come on an insane bed of lettuce though, so it could in and of itself be an entree. The side (app) salads are huge and would probably work as a whole meal. Delicious, but I can't imagine how big the full size one is! Nice ambiance. Fair amount of kids and crowded on a weeknight. Big shout to our server Chloe who is the model for wonderful and friendly service. If I ever come back, I'd ask for her section.

Love the pizza here I've been going here for 9+ years now. But today was the first time I got a PIZZA MAKING KIT!! cutest date night I had with my fiancée got the 3 pizza pie kit (comes with 4 doughs) and got pepperoni and sausage toppings! Completely recommend so fun! I put the pizzas in the oven at 425 degrees F, for about 10min. Also we super appreciate the 4th dough, that's how we found out the exact time we needed to take out the pizza perfect amount of cheese, toppings and sauce!!

A friend recommended this place to me and I'm glad she did. First off...the food. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza and the pizza I ordered had a nice charred crispy to it and the rich tomato sauce was pleasant. I'm also a sucker for apples and cinnamon, so I decided to try their warm apple caramel pie, which was served a la mode with vanilla bean ice cream. Was a little disappointed by this dessert because I thought it was rather bland. Nevertheless, it wasn't the terrible, so I ate most of it. Secondly, the service was attentive and not overbearing. My server was friendly and greeted me right away when she noticed me standing by the host stand without a host/hostess in sight. Last but not least, the ambiance was cozy, casual, and comfortable. I like the fact that they had chalk boards with menu items. Nice touch to add to the welcoming atmosphere. Pizza: 9/10 Warm caramel apple pie: 6/10

Good family-friendly restaurant with wood-fired NY style pizza, but NOT Neapolitan. The ginormous charred pizza pies have a nice crunchy crust. The creamy White Sauce pizza with onion and thyme was more flavorful than the Cheese pizza. The pizza shake with oregano and fontina cheese overpowered the Cheese pizza. The cheese congealed pretty quickly and the pizza became tepid after 5 minutes. It was a bit disappointing to be served a can of Lambrusco instead of from a fresh bottle in a glass. There was a large assortment of flavored sangria and non-alcoholic bubbly sodas. The service was great and very accommodating towards my rambunctious family with a toddler and a baby throwing food from a high chair (we left a generous tip!). If you enjoy NY style pizza, you'll enjoy Pie-tanza. It was nice to support the small family business, but I prefer Neapolitan pizza at Modo Mia right across the street from the shopping plaza.
